Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

email legally binding contract?

I have emails from my ex-husband agreeing to pay money that was not covered in our divorce or separation agreeement. Can these emails be considered legally binding contracts? Can I take him to court to get the money he agreed by email to pay?

We were divorced in GA, where he still lives; however, I now live in MT

Re: email legally binding contract?

You can't agree to violate court orders, so if the email violates what the judge signed, odds are it is useless. Before trying to "do it yourself" to violate court orders, consult a lawyer to see what you can (and cannot) do and how to do it.
