Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia
I was engaged to a man who owns his house free and clear. I am 62 he is 71. We were to get married November 27 of this year. In anticipation of that, I put in 35,000 to remodel his house. Now he has called off the wedding and says too bad about my money. Do I have any legal right?

Yes. You should consult with a Georgia attorney who can tell you how to recover your $35,000 worth of equity you put into his home.

No one can credibly tell you whether you have a claim As you included zero facts on the agreement you had, if any.
You may or may not have a claim.
Assuming you did the $35,000 properly, and hired a lawyer to draft a proper document, you can sue him. Conversely, with no paperwork, he may be able to argue it was a gift. It will be your word versus his.
You can expect to spend significant legal fees but you do need a lawyer.
