Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

General Contractor is trying to backcharge my company unfairly

My company is being unfairly backcharged by a general contractor for work that they completed on our behalf without giving us the opportunity to do the work ourselves. My question is, where would I initiate a lawsuit? The work was completed in Douglas County, GA. The general contractor is located in Atlanta, GA.

Generally, you would file suit in the county where the defendant's principal place of business or registered agent is located.

The foregoing is general information only, not specific legal advice. No attorney/client relationship has been created or should be implied.

Suit should be filed in the county of the company's principal place of business OR in any county in which it maintains an office. You should consult with a local attorney.
