Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

Home purchase

My sister purchased a home several years ago using my credit. The house is in my name but she has made the payments. She has now stopped paying the payment and has moved out of the house. What recourse do I have against her, and do I have the right to sell the house? I can't afford to pay for it.

Re: Home purchase

It sounds like you possibly defrauded the lender and now want to know how to get out of it. Doing what you did likely involved falsifying loan documents (which is a crime).

The good news (unless a contract between you and your sister says otherwise) is that if the house is solely in your name you can sell it. The bad news if you stop paying is that you will face the consequences of that.

See a lawyer before you do anything.
