jury trial in a civil complaint

I filed a pro se civil tort and did not specifically request a jury trial. Do I need to amend the complaint and ask for a jury trial or simply set a trial date with the judge, after they answer, and it will be a jury trial?

Check with your clerk of court. Ordinarily a demand for jury trial can be filed at any time. You do not usually have to amend your complaint.
