Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

Okay so a lady asked if I could keep the horse at my barn because she was in legal trouble for the horse. She wasn't able to feed the horse. Well I told her yes and told her help me pay for food. Well she gave me one $65 dollar check. Which that will take care of the horse for like a week. Well for 18 months I hear nothing but I have to keep feeding the horse. Well I've spent around 3,000 dollars for feed it self on the horse. Well I was going to give it to a nice home so I called her told her what I was doing now she wants the horse back. What should I do?

If you give the horse away (or sell it) you have committed a felony and go to prison. If you refuse to give her the horse back you also have committed a felony and go to prison. So you give he the horse back rght away before you get yourself arrested.

Your voluntarily feeding the horse for 18 months unfortunately does not make it yours. You could go to court seeking a Declaratory Judgment that the owner abandoned the horse and that you are now the equitable owner, but that will cost you a mint. See if you can buy the horse for a reasonable price. If not, return it to the owner.
