Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia
My landlord of a home we recently moved into failed to tell me that he home was already under foreclosure and that wasn't suppose to be anyone living at the home. We received a knock on the door from a lady who was checking vacant properties and advised us there wasn't suppose to be anyone living here. The owner stated that she was getting it worked out. She now has investors coming to try to sell the home in a short sale. We had also when we moved in replaced the carpet, painted and the heat to this day doesn't work and she won't fix it because ahe says she has no funds to do so. We put down a deposit plus the renovations we did and made month payments. We just gave one on the investors a copy of our lease at the owners request. He was looking to buy the home. He came back and advised that the lease is void due to the notary was forged. What are my rights and what can I sue her for? Should I file a police report?

Your money likely is toast and you probably will soon have to move. But see a lawyer to review the paperwork. Remember, suing someone who can't pay for their home is unlikely to generate money but will cost you money you will need for movers.
