Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

Legitimizing a child

My son is on the birth certificate of his child, they were never married, he is 3 1/2 years old, he has been paying money to her. now after he broke up with her she won't let him see his son. Up until the breakup he was allowed to see him any time he wanted and we did have him alot of weekends and some week days. I have been told he has to be legitimized, can this be done without the expense of a lawyer? if so how would you go about doing this?

Re: Legitimizing a child

If your son actually cares about his child, he will get a lawyer and vastly improve his chances of getting visitation.

Can he file without one? Sure. Will he probably have a much worse outcome on his own? Almost certainly.

Legitimization can be complex, and a good lawyer is essential. Call me if we can be of help.
