Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

Who would be liable for thefts on airport properties

I had a tool box stolden from a company hanger at a municiple airport and would like to know if I have any legal recourse . The maintenance facility should be a secure facility. There are signs posted at ever entrance but some times the acess doors are proped open and I suspect that my tools were stolen because of this neglect for security.

Re: Who would be liable for thefts on airport properties

Generally, you would look to the owner of the property/building. The property owner may have insurance to cover your loss, but there may be exclusions that would apply. Another possiblity is the security company if the security is contracted from a source other than the landowner. Be sure that you have reported the loss to all the proper authorities (police/landowner/business owner/security etc.).
