Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

Loaning money

I would like help in figuring out if I have a case against an ex of mine that I loaned money to. I loaned him the money when we were still together to supposedly help him with his business. I later found out that he did not use this money for what he said. I did not get him to sign any papers. He now states he used that money during the time we were together to take care of ''our things'' such as groceries, gas, etc. All bills are paid under my name. I took care of the bills while he was out of work for about 1 1/2 months. He feels he shouldn't have to pay me back because about 2-3 weeks before we broke up, he gave me a significant amount of money toward rent. This is the same rent he told me he would give me the money for & I bounced my check with my landlord at least 3 times based on him telling he would give me the money for it. Since I don't have a signed document from him that the money I gave him was a loan, (that he also said I would see back with interest) do I have a case do you think? Please help me with this as I am struggling as a single mom to try & keep things together for myself & my daughter. Thank you for you time & attention.

Re: Loaning money

You may well have a case. File suit in the small claims court of the county in which he resides and get all your documentation together.
