i made a property bail bond for my grandson, the bond was $ 1500 it was for 5 counts, all were misdemeanors his arrangment comes up on the 10th of november. he has quit his job and left our custody, he will not call us we do not know where he is, he called his mother and told her he was not going to court and he would not go with us to court and to stay the hell out of his life and we better not try to get himif we find him, my question is can we terminate this bail under the circumstances, is there anyway we can get out of the bond we do not want to lose our money i only have income from ss

No (assuming this is the standard bond). This is the very reason the bondsman requested the bond and the circumstances you describe is exactly the risk you took by agreeing to put up the bond. Your best option is to keep trying to get him to show up for court.

First of all, you post under civil litigation, and this is a criminal law question, so most of Law Guru's criminal lawyers will never see your question.

You have found out the hard way why there are two things never to do in life: (1) loan money to friends and family and (2) post people's criminal bonds [unless you are willing to risk losing the money].

As I am sure you saw when you signed the bond papers, you agreed that the state would keep your money if he did not show up for court. The only way to avoid that is to produce him in Court. If you do get a hold of him, drive him straight to jail and go off his bond. Otherwise he has in effect stolen $1500 from you. There will be a bench warrant for him and he will have a more serious charge than his original charges.
