Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

magistrate court

i filed a complaint in magistrate court for unpaid boarding of a pony, i serve a lien on the defendant, he never answered my complaint, i filed for judgement by default, now i get a notice for a hearing on my motion for default, why? i though if they did not answer i would get it.

Some judges require hearings for defaults. Just go smile and prove your damages

Some judges require you to present evidence, even though you are technically entitled to a default judgment just because they didn't answer.
