Case for what? All you say is money was taken and a complaint was filed. No one can possibly tell you what kind of case you have. See a lawyer if it is enough money at issue.

You're asking us "If I commit a crime and the police confiscate my money at the scene, do I have a case?"

You are at risk of (1) criminal prosecution, so talk to a criminal lawyer, and (2) civil forfeiture,.which apparently began. You need a lawyer and no one can say what danger you are in criminally as we don't know the facts. With a civil forfeiture, it is very expensive to get a lawyer to challenge one (a minimum of thousands of dollars), and a lawyer could not answer the issue as to how it would turn out without details.
