Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

What is a motions calendar

Since the defendant did not answer within 45 days, I requested a default judgment on a small claims case. The judge put it on the motions calendar. What exactly does that mean? Will the judge hear the case on that date? How should I prepare?

Now that the case is in default, you will need to prove your damages to the court. To prepare, you will need to document how much you are entitled. Be prepared to present that. If the other party does show, they could object to the admissibility of your evidence but the courts ususally give a defaulting party very little leeway. mainly be concerned with your documantation and don't worry too much.

Sounds like good news. That is a default calendar. You need to be prepared to take your judgment and to put on any evidence necessary to get the exact amount of your money judgment. HCW
