Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

Neighborhood Associations

I signed the neighborhood association paperwork 5 years ago at closing. I really did not know what I was getting myself into. Now I would like to get away from this association and they have lawyers trying to get me to pay back dues. I do not want to be part of this association. I do not take advantage of the facilities and do not understand how they can inforce their convenants. This neighborhood continues to spend money like it is going out of style and I do not agree with the people controling the show.

Re: Neighborhood Associations

I represent a lot of homeowners' associations and individual homeowners. I want to emphasize that I don't represent any builders or developers.

For better or worse, you are bound by what your covenants say. Now, whether they are enforceable is another matter. If you have any questions, let me know.
