Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

I paid a wedding planner a deposit for a wedding in GA but ended up canceling because of their bad service. Now they are trying to keep most of my money, saying they paid the money to vendors, which were nonrefundable. But they will not provide receipts. They said they don't have too because I planned through them. Is this legal?

It is not a question of "legal" or not. These things are not the subject of laws. No one here knows the terms of any agreement you had with them, and you did not bother to tell us. What are the terms of the agreement that says they have to disclose these details to you, or that it is relevant in determining damages?

Since no one here has read your contract, no one can answer your question. You have the right to no more and no less than what the written contract says (and it likely also spells out any refund rights you might have).
