Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

Potential suit from dog attack

A neighbor claims that my dog attacked and killed her dog in her yard. At the time, there were at least two other dogs similar to my dog running loose in the neighborhood. My dog has never shown any aggressive behavior. They are threatening to sue me for vet costs of $228.00, replacement cost of the dog $200.00 and $200.00 for emotional distress. In their letter from their attoney these charges were stated and gave the total of $828.00 which is incorrect. The correct total should read $628.00. What can I do in my defense. If I honestly felt that my dog did this I would pay, but I do not believe my dog is responsible for this attack. Can you give me any suggestions. Thank you.

Re: Potential suit from dog attack

I tried a case just like this before, except the alleged victim was a cat. You can have a lot of fun with this case. If you don't think your dog hurt the other dog. Don't pay a dime. Of course if your dog was on your own property, it just doesn't matter.

In my case, I got pictures of the other neighborhood dogs and made a photo line up. All the witnesses picked the wrong dog. It was a hoot and my client won.

Let them sue you and have a good time.
