Is it hear say in small claims court if your wittnesses are friends? I do not have it in writing because he was a friend who replaced my motor in my car and I told him I wanted the old engine back to rebuild. When he returned it he left it in my driveway after dropping my engine out the back of his truck while driving. Destroying the motor and things on it that were still good. All I have are my friends word as proof to what was said.

It is not hearsay if they testify in person. To be safe, even though they're your friends, get each one a subpoena from the clerk's office. That way, if one of them can't get off work, is in the hospital, etc., you will be entitled to a continuance.
