Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

Property Dispute

After Hurricane Katrina hit, an exotic parrot landed in our yard. After looking for the owner for six months (posting web flyers, placing an ad in the local paper, and researching lost Katrina pets) our family decided to kep the parrot as a pet. Many people tried to claim this expensive ($10,000) parrot but failed to provide sufficient evidence on the bird's appearance and vocabulary. Now after about five years of medical treatment, food, and boarding of this bird, a man in our same town is trying to claim the bird as his own. We are 100% positive this is not the previous owner and he was given tips on how to claim it as is own. How can my family keep this pet legally without the need of a court date?

Do nothing. Unless he files a court case you do not even have a problem.
