Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

Rental Problems

My apartment complex wants to have my spouse fill out a application for a credit check. We are eight months in to a 12 month lease and because of some conflict between him and the management they want to basicly add him to the lease. However when we moved in they said they only needed my info and to just list him as someone who lives here. Also they are now saying he can not use the shared facilities. There is an ongoing conflict between him and the management but no threats or anything like that. Just want to know if this is something they can legally do or if there is something I should do to fight back?

Re: Rental Problems

The answer will lie in the fine print and a careful reading of your lease. Ordinarily, a lease between A and B is just that: a contract between A and B. A has no right to insist upon a third party being added.

As to access to the facilities, again see what your lease says. If it says roommates, etc., have access, so be it.
