Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

who is responsible for an adult child's bills?

If a 43 year old divorced woman with no children(exhusband has custody of child) becomes sick and dies, who is responsible for her debts? Can her father who has not seen nor heard from her in 30 years be forced by his exwife to assume her debts when he is on social security? Can his house be taken from him to pay for the adult child's debts?

Unless the parent has assumed them an adult child's bills are her responsibility. To the extent they can, the estate is liable.
