Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia
Retreive money or equipment
I use to work at a hair salon and i helped the owner purchase equipment (styling chair/dryers/supplies) by getting a loan from a relative on her and salons behalf that totaled up to $1500. She had a verbal agreement with him to repay the loan and i would be the one that would manage the transaction. She left him a voice message stating that when she got her income taxes she would repay him $500 and then set up a plan to repay the balance, but once she got back on her feet she had a disagreement with you and I stopped working there. before left Igave her a written, notarized copy of a repayment agreement that she refused to sign. I have copies of the receipts for the large items that I purchased with my bank card to have a tracking system, as well as the invoice from the store where we purchased the equipment from. Because I was the person who facilitated the loan the management of the loan transaction I felt responsible so I repaid the relative. How can I recover my money or the item

Re: Retreive money or equipment
The biggest mistake was apparently not having a written loan and repayment agreement when the money was loaned. As far as you getting repaid, your problem is that the borrower did not have a contract with you, and you voluntarily paid her debt. Again, the proper paperwork would have helped. As far as getting the items purchased with the borrowed funds, unless you had a written security agreement with the items as collateral, you probably can't (unless the borrower agrees).
