Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

Simple Battery

My(now)ex-boyfriend & I got into a small debate after leaving a school performance. While on the way back to the apartment he started calling me out of my name & said i was worthless,& my father was childish for not letting me work. Now furious I asked to get out of his car.He slowed it down to a stop,& when I tried to get out of the car he grabbed me refusing to let me get out.The second time I tried to get out he stopped at the light,& once again he grabbed me this time on my side ripping my shirt & cutting my arm.I tried to get out once more this time he sped the car up as soon as I opened the door.I finally got out of his car when we stopped at the front gate of the apartment complex. Only when he turn his direction towards the guard on duty giving him his ID.Later i had a mutual friend return his property.I received a phone call from him stating, ''It is not within your best interest your dad comes down here.''My Dad works for homeland security so I assume he didn't want me to report him.I was told by an officer I have three things to choose:Simple battery, kidnapping,& false imprisonment. What should I do to win my case?

Re: Simple Battery

Telling you how to win your case is not an appropriate purpose of this forum. If you want to file a police complaint, do so and let them handle it. If you believe there is anything to gain by filing a civil lawsuit, the lawyer you retain will review your case and explain what it will take to win. The question you need to ask yourself is whether the incident is really worth going through a lawsuit, or a criminal complaint, or whether one should just move on.
