Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia
Slander/False accusation of a crime
My grandfather and I have tended to his cattle on his farm since I was a small child, he recently passed away, and my uncle that rarely ever went to the farm and had no idea how many cattle was even there till my grandfather passed away, he told the attorney for my grandfather's estate that I had been seen steeling cattle from his farm, there is no cattle missing. The attorney saw my father and told me that I had been seen steeling the cattle and if I returned the money no charges would be made. I have done no such thing, and there are no cattle missing. Is this not a case of slander and false accusation of a crime ??? He is also trying to turn my grandmother against my mother and me and my brother and sister so that he can retain power over everything.

Falsely accusing someone of a crime is certainly slander. You may have a case against the lawyer as well as your uncle. Contact a local attorney.
