Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

My son was just pulled over for one headlight. Headlights were working when I sent him to Walmart, police saw that only one headlight was not on, followed him, pulled him over, took him to jail. He is 18. Police searched car of course, car was clean. Friend was with him and police let him drive the car back. Police searched glove department, it was clean, but a piece was broken so glove department front casing is on the floor and interior light stays on. What should I do? His friend said police said they don't see his license anywhere on file.
