Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

Subject of a John Doe Federal Civil Case

I would like to know if Ga. is like Fla in exempting your home from being taken if you loose a civil case?

I have blogged info about a Dept Store chain and am being sued as John Doe for the moment. I can't afford atty. costs to defend when I am identified and my only worth while asset is my paid for home and a few K in the bank. Can they take the house if they get a judgment?

No, Georgia's exemptions are not nearly as broad as Florida's and yes, your home could theoretically be used to satisfy a judgment.
