Can I sue a room mate for taking my part of the deposit even if my name was not on the lease?

You can sue for anything you want. Anyone can. Since you provided zero facts about who paid the deposit, whether bills are owed, and all other facts, you won't get a meaningful response about whether you have a valid case.
