Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia
Not sure
I am not sure how to title this. An ex-boyfriend (i guess i can call it that) that I had been communicating with for about three years is threatening me with a sue for monies that he GAVE me during our courtship. He works abroad and was really never around! His last trip he came to my home brought several of his personal items and signed a car over to me which is currently in my name. He proposed I did not accept because i didn't feel we had spent appropriate time with each other and i had seen behavior in him that was discouraging. Being in Iraq seemed to had changed him. Once he got back to Iraq the threats to take his items from my house and deliver to a location started and threats of sueing me for monies he had given me started. THere is only one ocassion I mentioned that i would pay him back all other times for in most case volunteered by him. I thought at the time he was doing it because we were in a relationship and it was his way of assisting me during some tough times! I have emails to prove several of those times he wired me money. To stop the harassment I took his items to a storage and left two that eluded me. He is harassing me about those items and emailing and calling me with threats what is my recourse?

Re: Not sure
Ignore him completely if you choose. You can't get gifts back, so unless he can prove it's a loan, he loses. And unless he actually sues you, you do not even have a legal problem. If he does, he has the burden to prove that he made loans and not gifts.
