Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

traffic accident - commercial vehicle

I live in Michigan. I was involved in a collision with a private vehicle in Georgia in Aug 2005. I was driving a flatbed truck. I was not cited. No EMTs were called. No injuries reported. Police were there only 10 minutes. No pictures, videos, etc. Driver is now suing for medical bills of more than $16,600 and loss of income over $19,000. How do I defend myself or find an attorney to defend me?

Give notice of the suit IMMEDIATELTY to your insurance company, and hope that they provide a defense. Keep in mind that most policies require you to give notice when an accident first occurs, so you may have some issues with your insurance if you did not report it when it happened. If something like that ever happens again, give notice to your insurance company immediately, even if there are no injuries.
