Now we know why you wanted an answer without the facts. Virtually all repair places give you clear notice through signs, the receipt or otherwise, when you take the item in. More missing facts. They don't have to track you down to get approval to sell. Common sense should also tell you they are not going to keep it forever - certainly not 4 years and probably not even 1 year. If you "made contact" in 2010, and this is nearing the end of 2011, why didn't you get it then?
You left a watch 4 years ago, conracted them a year and a half ago and are wondering now why they sold you watch?
Of course they wouldn't keep it that long and it is frankly amazing anyone would not have picked it up four years ago.
