A wage garnishment was just enacted on my pay, is there anyway to stop it other than bankruptcy?

Assuming the creditor followed proper procedure, bankruptcy or an agreement with the creditor (which they are not likely to do unless it is better than them getting paid in full through garnishment). The time to consider the options and consequences of a judgment is before the judgment is entered.

You should've contacted a lawyer when a lawsuit was filed against you. NOT after a judgment was entered against you.
As Mr. Riddle so artfully points out, the time to consider the options and consequences of a judgment is before the judgment is entered.
