Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

Wedding ruined by the resort

I was recently married, the wedding ceremony went fine but during the reception, the resort at which the wedding was held overloaded the electrical service panel and caused a fire which forced the evacuation of my wedding party. We only used half of the time for which we paid and didn't get to eat. Not to mention costs associated with paying the photographer and DJ for time not used. Now the resort insists on charging full price for everything with no discounts. Is this fair? It doesn't seem so. What should I do?

I will bet that the resort tried to limit its liability in the documents you signed when you reserved the place. Consult with a local attorney to have these documents and their fine print reviewed.
