Legal Question in Health Care Law in Georgia
Dr. visit by force
Is it legal for the city manager of the city where my husband works to force me to get a physical? I'm very healthy and only go to the Dr. for yearly exams. He started a wellness program through the city and is forcing everyone who gets their health insurance through the city to participate in the program. I did not do it last year and don't want to go now but he will go up on our insurance for the rest of this year and cancel us next year for not particiapting.

Re: Dr. visit by force
You are trying to say you are being "forced" to go to the doctor, when that is not true at all. From your post, you have the choice to participate in the insurance or not participate. That is no different from many other choices made from day to day, and many employers and insurers require physicals. The simple solution appears to be that you make the choice to get your own insurance and hope they don't require a physical.
