Legal Question in Health Care Law in Georgia
medicaid expired in a nursing home
The nursing home said my aunt's medicaid expired last year. My aunt received family visits a least 3 times/wk. The n. home said they tried to contact the family to no avail, yet they never mentioned the issue to anyone family visiting. My aunt died last week and has $900 in her account which the n. home refuses to give the money to the family because they claim of the expired medicaid. issue. Is this accurate information from the n. home? What can the family do?

Re: medicaid expired in a nursing home
No one here can possibly know whether the information from the nursing home is accurate, as far as expiration. The obvious first step is for a family representative to check the status of medicaid.
