Legal Question in Health Care Law in Georgia

missed appointment fees

My 1st appointment in this office I received a confermation call the day before. My second appointment, I did not, and missed the appointment. I received a bill of $130 for this ''unkept'' appointment. Nowhere in the finacial paperwork does it state that the office only confirms 1st appointments. Wouldn't this be misrepresentation, to confirm one appointment and no others without informing the patient?

Re: missed appointment fees

You had an appointment. You missed it. Personal responsibility. Where in the paperwork does it say that it is their responsibility to remind you of your appointments? It is ridiculous to argue that because they gave you a COURTESY call the first one that they somehow became responsible for reminding you of your obligations.
