Re: Asylum
You have fallen prey to the USCIS's common failing -- delay, delay, delay, or, possibly lost file, lost file, lost file. There are several options you have. You can make an Infopass appointment and go visit USCIS. Take your asylum grant notice; advise the officer that you have waited and waited. Find out who is holding your file and why they are holding it up. Make sure you have taken fingerprints within the last year. If not, ask the officer for a fingerprint appointment letter then check back in two weeks after you have taken the fingerprints. Next option, take your case to federal court. In short, sue the USCIS for your green card. There are some good immigration lawyers who would be happy to take your case to the local federal district court and get a writ of mandamus granted to force the USCIS to hasten the adjudication of your green card application. Good luck!
