Hello,
Unfortunately, the only way to know why your entry was denied is by reviewing the annotation, and verifying with the USCIS why the CBP officer denied entry. CBP officers usually have the final authority to allow or deny entry, but they must specify a reason. If you were handed any additional documents or information on your entry denial, the only way to determine how to proceed is to verify the stamped information or document, and request additional information from the USCIS on why your entry, and perhaps your visa, were denied at port of entry.
Feel free to contact me for additional information and to review your documents.
Thanks,
