How can a child that was brought here illegally when he was 5 and is now 17 make his way to becoming a citizen. He also wants to join the marines!

Dear Inquirer:
Unfortunately, the law does not provide legal permanent resident status for people in such situations. There is a proposal pending in Congress called the DREAM Act that would, if it becomes law, allow people who entered the US at a young age and completed high school in the US and meet certain other conditions to apply for a green card.
