Legal Question in Insurance Law in Georgia
Auto claim
I took my car into an auto repair shop for repairs and when I returned to pick up my car it had been totalled. One of the individual, who worked on my car states he took the car out to test drive it. While test driving it he wreacked the vechile. Also, the same individual is not employed with the auto repair shop. He is related to the owner of the shop. What should I do too recoup my loss? What are the steps?

Re: Auto claim
Usually the answer is simple. These days, most people have collision coverage, so if there is no other coverage, turn it over to your own insurer. There may be other coverage available, either from the person who drove the car or the shop, and that is the first place to file a claim.
If you made the mistake of not having full coverage and using an uninsured repair shop, then all you can do is the sue the shop, bearing in mind that a shop that doesn't bother to carry insurance may lack the assets to pay a judgment.
