Legal Question in Insurance Law in Georgia
My father was a cosigner on a car loan for his adult daughter. She was also listed on his insurance. She was involved in a car accident. Months later, a deputy arrived with a summons. My sister has since passed away. Could my father be liable at all in the personal injury lawsuit even though he was not the driver?

Possibly under the family purpose doctrine, but the insurer would be obligated to defend the case and pay up to the policy limits.
