Legal Question in Insurance Law in Georgia
Hi,
My fathers work shop burned down with his 1964 Pontiac Convertable in it and it was completely destroyed. The car was being restored from the ground up and is closed to finish. The car isn't running yet, but all paint and glass is finished. He has insurance on the shop that covers $30,000 of the structure and all property. The insurance company is saying that the car isn't covered as property because it is considered a vehicle. My question is, if the car isn't running or even streetable, how can it even be considered to have to have car insurance?

Unfortunately your father made an expensive mistake. If you have a valuable car you insure it whether it runs or not. In chosing not to do so, he bears the loss.
