Insurance Beneficuary
What are the laws regarding a life insurance policy that names 3 children as beneficuaries and one of those children is deceased and has a child. Is that child entitled to the deceased portion?

Normally the payment should be made by the insurer to the estate of the deceased chid.If the deceased child had an heir that heir would then inherit the insurance money.However there are issues. Did the deceased child have a will?Was the estate of the person who died with the life insurance policy insuring his/her life named in any way in the insurance policy as a beneficiary? Was there a "contingent beneficiary" named in the life insurance policy who would recover in the event one or more of the named beneficiaries was dead at the time of death of the insured?It gets down--in large part--to what the policy says.I would need to see the policy and form naming the beneficiaries before giving a solid opinion.
