Legal Question in Insurance Law in Georgia
Do I have to repair my truck?
An unlicensed driver (who borrowed her father's insured car) pulled out in front of one our tractor-trailer trucks. We got a repair estimate, but would rather use the truck for parts for our fleet of trucks. We have received a check from the ''at fault'' insurance company, but do we have to repair the truck or can we use the money as we see fit?

Re: Do I have to repair my truck?
Unless you agreed otherwise, there is no law that says you have to use the damages money to repair the truck. The amount is based on a repair bill only to figure out the amount of the damages. You are entitled to that amount, but what you do with it is your business.
