Get in contact with the police who are investigating, and your insurance company.
If you believe the owner of the car fabricated the report in order to avoid responsibility for the vehicle, there needs to be some basis for that opinion. Do you know of peculiar facts related to the incident? Did you get information that the owner made incriminating statements? Do you know the owner to have a poor reputation (does that lead you to believe the owner lied)?
In any case, wait for the police to fully investigate this matter. Discuss the issue with your home insurance carrier. If you develop facts and or proof substantiating your suspicions, you may look to retain a lawyer to file a civil action against the owner for your property damage plus an incidental costs you incurred related to the civil action.
