Legal Question in Insurance Law in Georgia

Someone told me that if you write on a GA Named Driver Form(an automobile insurance policy form) after an excluded driver's name(i.e the driver's date of birth or the words not licensed or never been licensed) the form is invalid. I was under the impression that is someone adds additional words or sentences to a legal document signs and initials the additional info and has this witnessed by a third party the document is both legal and binding. Please advise who is correct?

"Legal Document" is a generic term and is meaningless if there is no context. Merely calling something a "legal document" does not make it so. A witness may or may not be required for a document, depending on the terms of the document, or the law (for example, a deed). How could we say that "additional words or sentences" make a difference when we don't know what the words and sentences are, what the rest of the words or sentences say, or the nature and purpose of the document? Does the "legal document" say that one party can make all the changes they want as long as their friend witnesses it? The same goes for making it "legal and binding." "Legal and binding" for what? The bottom line - If you have questions about your insurance, read the policy or contact the agent or company.
