Legal Question in Insurance Law in Georgia
A tornado hit my boyfriends house a few months ago and insurance paid a contractor to fix it, but my boyfriend did most of the work and they agrred to pay him his share. Now that the checks have come in there not wanting to give him his far share what should we do

I presume you did not get anything in writing from the insurance company prior to finishing the repairs. That makes your situation a little more difficult. Be that as it may, the insurance company is still required to pay for the damages and so long as the fees charged by your boyfriend are within reason, they should be paid. I suggest you call an attorney to evaluate your case and provide specific advice on moving forward with your claim.

If your boyfriend and you did this properly, written documents which could be enforced would have been signed. Absent that, see a lawyer with details to determine if anything can be done now.
