Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Georgia

What constitutes Intellectual Property

Can an idea for a service oriented business be classified and protected as intellectual property? If so, can you patent your idea for a service or is another form of protection required?

Re: What constitutes Intellectual Property

An idea is not protected under intellectual property; only when it is put into a medium is it protected, e.g. a business plan. Whether you need a patent or a copyright is a complex question and sometimes you can receive both protections. I would strongly recommend talking to a local IP lawyer if you need to protect your work.
