Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Georgia
Gifts from a significant other
I'm not sure if this is the right area of law for this question, but here goes. I am in the process of ending a relationship with a gentleman who has purchased gifts for me during our one year relationship. I didn't ask for these gifts but do appreciate them. Now that we are no longer seeing each other, he wants them back. The gifts are nothing overly extravagant, they consist of a computer, saddle, miscl. items. The most expensive being a flat screen TV which he paid $1000 for. I'm not a materialistic person and would gladly return these items to him, but I use these items daily. Especially the computer because I'm in school. Legally, can he force me to return or reimburse him for these items? Thank you for your help.

Re: Gifts from a significant other
No, gifts are gifts. Absent some understanding or written "loan" agreement, he is out of luck.
He should move on and write it up to experience.
