Pleading the fifth

My client is in a lawsuit currently

with my ex employer over IP and

NDA violation. I had agreed to

testify against my ex employer.

Currently I have to go to a

deposition for the lawsuit.

Do I have an option to not go? If

sent a subpoena can I plead the

fifth based on the grounds that my

answers would incriminate me or

give the other party fodder to sue

me? My personal situation has

changed since then and I dont wish

to be a part of any lawsuits. Whats

the best way to get out.

Get a lawyer. A subpoena is a court order. It is not something to "get out" of because you don't want to do it. Advice on whether the plead the 5th should not come from a message board.
