what is the age for consenting sex in ga
i have a 14yr old daugther who had sex and now the state what to bring charges aganist me because i new about it.someone told me that the legal age to consient is 14 and i just wanted to know if this was true

Generally that would apply only, if the woman is married [and you are her husband] or is otherwise emancipated--not considered a minor despite being under the age of majority. Age of consent in Ga. is 17. If state charges are pending, you should generally cease talking to the police and immediately consult with an attorney. Even if you cannot afford an attorney the State, unfortunately, will not appoint you an attorney until after you have been arrested, which by then may be too late to help you. PAS
